What’s the Best Way To Do This?

In addition to asking which version is best or which one they should read, people also ask whether it matters if they listen to an audiobook or read it themselves. Which is better?

My answer is simple. Whatever you will actually do is what’s best.

Some people do great listening in the car on the way to work. That doesn’t work well for me. My mind drifts to other things before I know it.

Other people need to read. Their brain engages better that way. That doesn’t work especially well for me either. My mind still wanders, and it seems to get worse the older I get.

What I’ve been doing lately and it seems to work good for me is to listen to an audio version, while also reading along with the text. For whatever reason it keeps me focused and less prone to distraction.

So the answer is do whatever works for you, as long as you’re doing something. Try it a few different ways and see what actually holds your attention.

Just keep going.
