Somewhere along the way, starting a Bible reading plan got tied to January 1st. Like the two things are supposed to happen together.
They don’t have to.
This plan is built around the day of the month, not the day of the year. Whatever today’s date is, that’s your starting chapter of Proverbs. No lookup required. No feeling behind because it’s October instead of January.
Most people who wait for a “real” starting point never actually start. Something interrupts January before it gets going. Then it’s February, and starting late feels worse than not starting, so they wait for next year instead.
That cycle can run for years.
The plan doesn’t ask you to wait for anything. It just asks what today’s date is and hands you a chapter.
That’s available every day of the year, including today.
