Some Christians say the Old Testament doesn’t really apply anymore.
So why bother?
I get the sentiment.
Jesus fulfilled the law.
We’re not under the old covenant.
We don’t sacrifice animals.
We’re not following temple rules.
All true.
But here’s the part that gets missed:
Even if everything changed with the coming of Jesus, the story didn’t start in Matthew.
You understand things better when you know where they came from.
You understand Jesus more clearly when you know what He was fulfilling.
You understand grace more deeply when you see how heavy the law really was.
The Bible isn’t two disconnected documents.
It’s one long story.
The New Testament constantly quotes the Old.
The writers assumed you knew it.
Jesus Himself quoted it all the time.
And the more of the “before” you understand, the more the “after” makes sense.
You don’t have to have a seminary degree.
You don’t have to understand everything perfectly the first time.
But reading the Old Testament gives you context — and context gives you clarity.
And clarity strengthens faith.
That’s why the plan on this site covers the whole Bible.
Not because you need to memorize every detail,
but because seeing the whole story helps you understand the Savior at the center of it.
